A jack of all trades living and working in the Halton Hills Region of Ontario in his own words
My name is Usman, and I am a jack of all trades. My love for fixing and building things started after buying my first house. I realized there is a lot that a house needs constantly; and if you don’t stay on top of things, they start to pile up rather quickly. I used to call people to fix random things around the house, and watching them is how the seed was planted to try to do things on my own. Fast forward a few years, I renovated my first house and sold that and bought a 1970’s Tudor style house and changed it completely inside out. It is rewarding to be able to fix something by your own two hands. Over the years I have picked up a wealth of knowledge about framing, basic electrical and plumbing, building fences and sheds, drywall repairs, understanding of how a house functions and breathes and have built full bathrooms and done kitchen renovations.
Five years ago I started my own business of Neighborhood Handyman. It is based out of Halton Hills, ON. I currently serve Halton and Halton Hills in Ontario, and jobs vary from something as simple as mounting a TV to building a fence, a complete basement renovation, and everything in between.
I am constantly learning, and I take continuing education courses to increase my professional knowledge. More recently I took a Schluter Level 1 course to better understand the applications of that specific product. (It's awesome by the way!)
Having said that, there are many things an average DIYer can do themselves. But every now and then we all get stumped and just can’t seem to find the solution to our own specific problem anywhere online. And that's where The Project Garage comes in handy. I can walk you through your issue during a project, and I can even consult with you before you get started to work out the details. You can talk to me about tools, materials, budgets and execution.
